Have you ever tried this Frugal Friday 2 Ingredient Dough? I have to say I was a bit skeptical at first but I was really impressed. They are fluffy, delicious, and packed with protein.
I made everything bagels with the dough but it can also be used for pizza crust, pretzels, breadsticks, or just a loaf of bread. It really reminded me of sour dough - it was delish. The fact that it is so versatile and you can make so many things with it, makes it such an awesome recipe. So easy too! Can’t get easier than just two ingredients.
If you want to utilize your greek yogurt and flour to the fullest, I'd make all the dough you can, bake what you'll need or like and then freeze it. It should last in the freezer for months. Bake some bagels, breadsticks, pizza crust, etc.
Frugal Friday is a series I started a year or so ago where I make meals on a budget. I understand that not everyone has the luxury of buying organic or sometimes at your typical grocery store, so I try to find the best deals. Especially as we go through a recession, I hope this can help a lot of families or individuals.
If you're trying to save even more money in the long run, I highly suggest making your own seasonings as well. I made this Everything but the Bagel Seasoning and it has lasted me so long. I like to re-use my old jars to store it.
So, did you try out this recipe? I’d love to see you recreate it. Also, don’t forget to tag me on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook so I can see.
In a large mixing bowl, mix your flour and greek yogurt.
Optional: Cover with plastic wrap and let dough rise for 1-2 hours.
Create anything - I did bagels. Create a bagel shape, add egg white wash to the top, and top with everything but the bagel seasoning.
Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes and enjoy!
